Tyra Banks

My favorite female entertainer would be Tyra Banks. She is so beautiful and does so much for children. I also love her show, "America's Next Top Model". She has worked with just about ever fashion designer, magazine artist, make-up artist, hair-dresser and anyone els in fashion. She was with "Victoria Secret" as well. She has modeled anything from lingere, sweat pants, Cature in Paris, and fashion in Hong Kong. She is afraid of no runway, or high heel. And to me, that's a true woman.

George Clooney.

My favorite actor is George Clooney. What girl's favorite actor isn't? He has so much talent and does so many different rolls, but pulls them all off so well. He's been in movies like, "Oceans 11" through 13. "Oh Brother Where Art Thou." And something as random as "South Park Bigger Longer and Uncut." He's directed movies and produced. He has also been on quite a few TV shows, such as, "ER", "Friends", and "Roseanne". His newest movie Michael Clayton is doing quite well in the Box Office, but then again so do the rest of his movies. He can be funny, dramatic and deppressing, he's just amazing anyway you look at it.

Celilo Falls Narrative

Celilo Falls

Picture One:In the first picture, one of the tribes at Celilo are fishing and using their natural resources.
Picture Two:As seen here, the Army Corp of Engineers is building the damn that was built and flooded the town that was once Celilo Falls.

300

My favorite movie is for sure "300". I love this movie because it has so much action and keeps you waiting for more through the whole thing. True bravery and courage come through in this movie as well. Its a great way to learn about mythology and an even better way to learn respect and morals. It's just dramatic and the graphics are excellent. I always like a story about few against many, The way they rise up after their king and other soldiers fall is amazing all in its own.

Salem's Change.

If there was one thing I could change about here in Salem Oregon, it would be how much land we are trying to turn into building flats and banks, condos, restaurants and whatever Else they feel like at the time. I thought Salem was supposed to be a beautiful green place, simple and relaxed. It seems these days we're trying to turn Salem into a mini Los Angeles. How wrong would that be? We're simple for a reason. That's how us kids grew up, our parents, and our parents parents. How are we supposed to keep our city small and beautiful if we keep building pointless non-since?

My song.

My song that gets me "fired up" is "Harder To Breathe" by Maroon 5. It's easy to sing along to, and the vocals are just so amazing. The drums are great in the song as well. Adam Levine is just such a good singer. His voice alone is part of the reason why I love the song. The guitar is fun to listen to as well. It's simple but pulls the song together. I listen to this song before swim meets or if I'm kind of in a bad mood. I'm not exactly sure why it pulls me out of a bad mood...but whatever works right? I know I listen to it before I swim because the beat is just fast pase and easy to listen to. It helps in the pool because if you can focus on something other then the challenge and how hard it is to keep going, you do alot better. Here are the lyrics to "Harder To Breathe"...

"How dare you say that my behavior is unacceptable
So condescending unnecessarily critical
I have the tendency of getting very physical
So watch your step cause if I do you'll need a miracle

You drain me dry and make me wonder why I'm even here
This Double Vision I was seeing is finally clear
You want to stay but you know very well I want you gone
Not fit to f***in' tread the ground that I'm walking on

When it gets cold outside and you got nobody to love
You'll understand what I mean when I say
There's no way we're gonna give up
And like a little girl cries in the face of a monster that lives in her dreams
Is there anyone out there cause it's getting harder and harder to breathe
Is there anyone out there cause it's getting harder and harder to breathe

What you are doing is screwing things up inside my head
You should know better you never listened to a word I said
Clutching your pillow and writhing in a naked sweat
Hoping somebody someday will do you like I did

When it gets cold outside and you got nobody to love
You'll understand what I mean when I say
There's no way we're gonna give up
And like a little girl cries in the face of a monster that lives in her dreams
Is there anyone out there cause it's getting harder and harder to breathe
Is there anyone out there cause it's getting harder and harder to breathe

Does it kill
Does it burn
Is it painful to learn
That it's me that has all the control

Does it thrill
Does it sting
When you feel what I bring
And you wish that you had me to hold

When it gets cold outside and you got nobody to love
You'll understand what I mean when I say
There's no way we're gonna give up
And like a little girl cries in the face of a monster that lives in her dreams
Is there anyone out there cause it's getting harder and harder to breathe
Is there anyone out there cause it's getting harder and harder to breathe
is there anyone out there cuz its gettin harder and harder to breathe"

Breaking The Habit.

My song that describes me is “Breaking The Habit” by Linkin Park. When I hear this song, it reminds me of when I got expelled from Sprague High School. I got expelled because I had to be right. All the time. And if I wasn't, I was gonna fight whoever stood in my way to be right. It to me, relates to how I felt when I got my explusion paper in the mail, the hearing for expulsion, what I lost because of it, how I realized that what I was doing was totally wrong and how I was going to turn it all around. So far...I've done pretty well on making a new. I got the highest GPA in my highschool career this past grading...and I couldn't be doing any better anywhere els then I am now at the Ike Box.

The lyrics to this song...

"I don't want to be the one
The battles always choose,
'Cause inside I realize
That I'm the one confused."

"I don't know what's worth fighting for
Or why I have to scream.
I don't know why I instigate,
And say what I don't mean.
I don't know how I got this way,
I know it's not alright.
So I'm breaking the habit,
I'm breaking the habit tonight"

(This verse reminds me of when I realized when it was already to late, how foolish and childish I was really acting, but it was too late, and I was already sitting down in the office filling out my expulsion pappers.)

"I tightly lock the door,
I try to catch my breath again.
I hurt much more,
Than anytime before.
I had no options left again."

(This is how I felt when I got home from "school" that day. I locked myself in the room, and knew...everything I worked so hard for, was just gone. I had no option now, other then to just go with it, admit I was wrong, and try to just pick myself up.)

"I'll paint it on the walls,
'Cause I'm the one at fault,
I'll never fight again ,
And this is how it ends."

(After I got home from the hearing, I realized that all my time in school, all my time I put into swim team and choir...it was gone, I was left with nothing, after all the blood sweat and tears, I had to get up and go to a new school, and I had no choice on what school to go to, no choice anymore.)

"I don't know what's worth fighting for,
Or why I have to scream,
But now I have some clarity,
To show you what I mean.
I don't know how I got this way.
I'll never be alright,
So I'm breaking the habit"

( I don't know what was worth fighting for, because I threw away varsity swim team, my friends, honor choir, my boyfrien, my chance of getting into a good college just because I had to look cool in front of my friends, and be the tough one. I know now that it was ridiculous. I'm just glad I realized it before I through my whole highschool career was in to big of a hole for me to pull out of.)

John Lennon's Insperation.

The most inspirational song that has had an impact on society would be "Give Peace A Chance", by John Lennon.
He made people aware of so many issues and problems in society and when he created the song Give Peace A Chance, it opened so many eyes to how bad things really were. With racism and discrimination, war and hate, every problem in between. He speaks of love, life, death, jealousy...every emotion and situation that a person has delt with or will go through in life. So many people thought that his way of going about peace were wrong. But they judge too quickly. He wanted peace, and he didn't want war to acheive it. How is bombing for peace in reality...peace?

"(Let me tell you now)
Ev'rybody's talkin' 'bout
Revolution, Evolution, Flagellation, Regulation,
Integrations, mediations, United Nations, congratulations
All we are saying is give peace a chance...
All we are saying is give peace a chance"

My Favorite Band.

My favorite band would have to be "A Day to Remember".
My favorite song of theirs?...Wow that's a hard one. I would have to say I have three. "Casablanca Sucked Anyway", "The Plot To Bomb The Panhandle", and "1958". Their music is so deep, and insightful. No matter what mood your in, or how you feel...their music is just there to make you feel better, to calm you, or just to make you feel happy. They have amazing guitar and amazing drums. Not to mention the vocalist and the bassist, and yes the band is truly that good. Every part of the band just fits so well together, and they have such good chemistry on stage. The way they interact with each other is a great reason to go to their concerts even if you don't know their music. They just know how to have fun and know how to get the crowd going and to have a really good time. I would deffinatly recomend them to anyone. No matter what kind of music you listen to, country, rock, jazz, whatever it may be, they will have something that you will enjoy!

About me.

In life, academics are so important. Literature is especially important. If you can't read, or write, you can't get anywhere in life. Reading classics, like Romeo and Juliet, or To kill a mocking bird is a big part of teen reading in schools these days. I love to read, and anything with hidden meanings or anything that makes you think, is something that I love to read. Wisdom. Something that very few people have, or develop in their lives. Wisdom is power. The art of learning without discrimination of any subject, topic or idea. The power to lift ones mind to a new level and never be superficial about it.
Ignorance, is something that ALL people have, and are born with, but it's a will within us to over ride it, and seek out true education and knowledge. To become something above the influence of ignorance, and grow into adult hood with a good picture on things, to learn not to hate, or discriminate.

Family is a big part of anyones family, especially in a teenagers life. My mom is my family. Plain and simple. She's always there for me, and though times get hard, it doesn't matter, we're a team and when together, we make a great debate team. You develop things from you ancestors all the time. Your personality, looks, and how you deal with things can be derived from your parents, and ancestors. Your ancestors have a big build up on how your family works, and all your traditions. Tradition could be another big part of your family. Certain things you do at holidays, you never know. They could have been tradition to your family hundreds of years before you!

The dream to become a professional. The foresight to see what you could, and want to be. to look ahead at what your good at, what you want to do in life to make a life for yourself. I have the dream of becoming a lawyer and then later on in life to become a judge. To work with the law, to help the people that need it. Law school is something that just seems like fun. So much hard work, so much time to take to learn. The law is so complicated, and I love working with a challenge, and research.

Life is full of hard times. but if we have the power to keep our minds open and dream about the future and things we wish to accomplish...it makes things a lot easier. Without goals, life would be a blank page. But it's up to us to fill the page with knowledge, and accomplishments.
